3.2 Installation

No prior knowledge is required to install the unit.
1. Plug the UPS power cord into a grounded outlet. This cord is not supplied with the unit.
You can use the computer power cable. The 3000VA version includes a power cord for
the UPS since the voltage it must support is higher than that of a standard computer
cable.
2. If there are additional batteries, connect them to the UPS.
3. Do the same if there are additional chargers.
4. Connect the output bases on the rear of the UPS to the loads to be protected using the
UK
cords with IEC320 type connectors. Make sure not to exceed the UPS' useful power
range. The 2200VA version is equipped with 8A fuse protection for each output pair. We
recommend distributing the load so as not to exceed the protection level.
5. If monitoring software is to be used, connect the communication cable from the UPS'
communication interface (DB15) to the computer's COM port (DB9).
NOTE :
Under EMC regulations, output cables may not be longer than 10 metres and com-
munication cables may not be longer than 3 metres.
NOTE:
In versions with galvanic insulation, the output neutral may be connected to a groun-
ded connection for loads that require a neutral-earth reference.

3.3 Start-up

Once connected to the mains, the microprocessor starts to work, making it possible to com-
municate with the unit through the DB15 communication interface. By pressing the ON but-
ton, the UPS may be used immediately, even if the batteries have not been recharged. In
this case, however, the unit's maximum autonomy will not be available in the event of a
power failure.
We recommend recharging the batteries for 8 hours before using the unit.
Do not connect any loads which could overload the UPS or extract direct current
from the UPS (e.g.: hair driers, vacuum cleaners, etc.)
Connect the load.
Switch the unit on by pressing the button
