8. Never open the equipment. It should only be opened by qualified technical personnel. It
contains elements which have a charge even with the equipment turned off.
9. There must be more than 3 mm of separation between contacts for protection devices
such as thermal circuit breakers or differentials.
10. Current environmental laws require that used batteries be returned to the manufacturer
or to an authorised recycling centre.

Chloride Power Lan+ and Power Rack+ UPS units comply with the following European stan-
dards:

73/23/EEC Council Directive on the adaptation of the internal legislation of EC countries con-
cerning the use of electrical apparatus within certain voltage tolerances, modified by Council
Directive RL 93/68/EEC.
89/336/EEC Council Directive on the adaptation of the internal legislation of EC countries
concerning electromagnetic compatibility, modified by Council Directives RL 91/263/EEC,
92/31/EEC and 93/68/EEC of the Council.
Additional information on compliance with these standards is found in the appendices enti-
tled Low Voltage Prescriptions (LVP) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC).
