Physical Installation

1. Install the primary and backup pumps in a suitable gas-tight basin vented in accordance with local,
state, and federal plumbing codes.
• Never place pump directly on clay, earth, or gravel surfaces.
• Secure the pump so the starting torque does not cause the pump to contact anyone or anything.
2. Place the pump-basin assembly on a hard, level surface.
3. Install the flexible coupling to the discharge of the backup pump.
4. Insert two hose clamps onto the coupling grooves, fastening the one closest to the pump discharge.
5. Slip the 90° street elbow into the flexible coupling and tighten the second hose clamp.
NOTE: Ensure that the pre-drilled air bleed hole remains unplugged.
6. Install the check valve into the 90° elbow.
NOTE: Apply PTFE tape to the male threads of the check valve before insertion.
