6.6 Call Tone

The call tone is an audible signal that alerts other stations that you want to transmit a
message. The PMR-1200 supports 15 call tones.
Selecting the Call Tone
Sending the Call Tone

6.7 Voice-Controlled Send Function (VOX)

This function is similar to the hands-free feature of your mobile phone. The PMR will start
transmitting as soon as it detects your voice (or another noise). This allows you to send a
message without pressing the PTT button (13). Use of this function is not recommended
when you are located in a noisy or windy environment.
